How do you spend your sunny days? Take a walk? Ride your bike? Read a book? How about a picnic? Picnics are a timeless and fun way to spend breezy days when the weather permits and the sun is out later in the evenings.

Plus, you can make your picnic stand out from the crowd by re-imagining what a picnic could be. A great picnic is easy to organize and can be inexpensive to shop. Some of the supplies you’ll need include inexpensive serving ware, linens, barbeque items and outdoor games. Check out your local Goodwill for all of your needs, or even find them at home by thinking outside of the box.  For instance, the throw pillows on your couch would add a touch of Moroccan elegance to your picnic setting. Or, add scented candles from home to add a layer of ambiance for a lovely evening setting. How about using a quilt for your ground blanket or even hanging lamp shades from a tree branch for a unique and decorative look (which your Goodwill stocks)?

Remember, a picnic is what you make of it. Start by visualizing what you want your picnic to be and keeping it simple and affordable. It is easy to do.  Stick with a theme and stay focused. You’ll stun your guests as much as you stun yourself with your creative, fun and memorable event! Tweet photos of your Goodwill picnic items to @SeattleGoodwill and share your ideas with us!
