Zipcar's ZipvanZipcar, the world’s leading car sharing network, has teamed up with Seattle Goodwill to help increase donations throughout the year, with a celebration of the partnership on Donation Day 2013. A brigade of Ford E-150 Zipvan cargo vans filled with donated goods will line Seattle’s Dearborn Street the morning of Saturday, October 19th, as Zipcar members haul oversized items to the Seattle Goodwill on Dearborn. Participants in this year-long partnership program will receive Zipcar driving credit to cover the cost of an hour long Zipvan reservation, as well as an extra hour of credit for a future trip, in any Zipcar vehicle. Seattle Goodwill, which earlier this year celebrated its 90th anniversary, sells donated goods from the community through its retail stores. The profits from the stores provide funding for free job training and education programs throughout the North Puget Sound Region.

“We don’t have a car, or a friend with a truck!” said one local Seattle Zipster. “Without the Zipcar and Seattle Goodwill program, we would not have been able to transport our large couch.” To receive the extra hour of driving credit, Zipcar members are encouraged to reserve one of 20 Zipvans in and around the city of Seattle to transport their unused goods on Donation Day 2013.
