I am a 46 year old man with a family and I have been getting dragged through Goodwill since I could walk. Some of my earliest memories are of the Dearborn Store in Seattle.
Everyone I know shops there and all of those people are pissed at the ridiculous prices we have been seeing there lately! I misread a tag the other day on a pair if jeans. I thought it said $14 and then realized it was $24! Almost $30 with tax for a pair of jeans you got for free!! I also donate regularly and am considering donating elsewhere or giving those items to charities that will in turn give them away! Marshalls and Ross have lower clothes prices on clothes that are new! I left those jeans at the register! We feel like you guys are now gouging due to Macklemores success and sudden mainstream popularity! We also know about your training programs and understand overhead, but whoever is deciding pricing now must be some corporate profit guru? Please don't take the jeans I gave you and sell them to some poor family for 30 bucks!! Sick of Goodwill!!

Pricing is something we pay a lot of attention to because it’s so important to our customers. The average price of an item is just $3.07.

It’s difficult to compare prices of specific items because each item donated to Goodwill is special.

There are other ways to save, such as our weekly color tag sales and special sales. We have items at many different prices, so our customers are sure to find something that fits their budgets. Additionally, you can save even more by visiting our two Outlet stores, where most items are sold by the pound.

Our staff receives training on pricing and we stay abreast of current trends. Also, we routinely audit our prices and comparison shop to see how they compare with those at other thrift and retail stores. Our research shows that Goodwill’s prices are comparable to or lower than those at other Goodwill organizations and area thrift-store

Thank you for being a loyal customer and donor for forty plus years. We hope you continue to consider us for future donations.
