Every year around this time, the internet fills with blogs and conversations about New Year Resolutions—and we’re a big fan of that here at Seattle Goodwill, because we’re all about setting goals to become a better version of yourself.

Here are our four favorite resolutions that we can help you with at Seattle Goodwill:

I resolve to get fit, healthy, and lose weight in 2015.
If your goals are fitness or weight related, we’re here for you. Not only do we often have affordable athletic and exercise gear on our shelves, but we can help you adjust your wardrobe to your size and shape as you shrink—without watching your wallet lose as much weight as you do. Out friend Kate writes a blog that talks a bit about the weight loss journey and body image changes—and even replacing her wardrobe as she shed inches. Check it out here: http://www.allthingskate.com.

I resolve to spend less, and save more.
A lot of people set financial goals as their New Year Resolution—to live within a budget, spend less, save more—and be overall more mindful where their money is going. Before you buy something new, check a nearby Goodwill store or two—or see what we’ve got listed online. Often you can find quality items for a fraction of the price the same item would cost brand new. You can also save money with our weekly tag sales.

I resolve to be more eco-friendly.
Seattle Goodwill recycled over 48 million pounds of goods out of landfills last year. Your donations help keep items out of landfills—and purchasing thrifted goods helps reduce the demand for the creation of new goods, when there are plenty of perfectly usable used goods available.

I resolve to give back to my community.
There are four big ways you can give back to your community through Seattle Goodwill. 1. You can donate goods—which in turn will get sold in our stores, and will fund out job training and education programs.  Last year, Seattle Goodwill helped over 9,200 students with free job training and education. 2. You can shop our stores! 3. You can give financially which supports job training and education! 4. You can volunteer your time. Seattle Goodwill has a number of opportunities that allow community members to be part of the work we do—from working with our students, to helping with special events, and much more—there’s something for everyone!
