Upcoming Events: Fall 2015

While we know it’s not officially fall (that’s September 23)—the transition in September often marks the unofficial transition into boots and scarves and jackets and crunchy leaves to be stomped on. Students of all ages head back to school. The hours of daylight we get here in the northwest start to be more similar to the rest of the country, rather than Alaska (for a little while). And here at Goodwill, we launch into the season that contains some of our biggest and most exciting sales and events of the year!

Here’s what’s coming up for the next few months:

September 7: What does this mean for you? $1.29 green tags and 40% off pink and red tags—AND extended store hours. All of our stores (except the outlets and our Ravenna Children’s Bargain Store) will be open at 8am. At the Ravenna store, you’ll get 50% off all donated goods—which is a GREAT opportunity if you need to bulk up that back-to-school wardrobe for your child! Ravenna opens at 10am.

September 17 & 18: Why? Because we appreciate you. What do you get because we appreciate you? 50% off red tags at all locations (excluding the outlet stores and Ravenna) for two days!

September 19 & 20: Join us over the weekend to celebrate expanded departments—and an outdoor furniture sale! It’s a great opportunity to outfit your new dorm room or apartment for college students! There will be giveaways and drawings all weekend.

We like the  winter holidays and summertime fun—but we LOVE Halloween. Halloween at Seattle Goodwill is amazing because we build out expansive and creative Halloween departments in our stores featuring the perfect blend of generously donated goods and new goods that allow you to create the perfect custom costume.

Like past years, we’ll be having Costume Consultants in stores on Saturdays in October, a costume contest with some amazing prizes (visit our Facebook page for more details), and two weeks of giveaways featuring prizes donated from various community businesses.

Stay tuned for some big (and fun) announcements and Halloween fun on our social media pages like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

November 6: Purchase your tickets now, and join us on the waterfront this year for our 7th Annual Glitter Gala & Fashion Show. The theme this year is “In the City”, will feature the Goodwill Design Challenge and Fashion Show, an after party, and will focus on our Youth Programs. All proceeds support Seattle Goodwill’s job training and education programs. We’re still looking for volunteers for this event, too!

November 14 & 15: The Glitter Sale is our most anticipated in-store event of the year! Doors open at 9am, but the line often starts outside of our flagship store many hours before that! Shop for formal wear, gowns, designer goods, and a huge selection of jewelry at this once-a-year sale. All proceeds directly fund our free job training and education programs—so that fancy gown you find helps our community!

November 26: We’re thankful for our donors, shoppers, students—and the team of amazing individuals who work in our stores, job training and education centers, and administrative capacities. All Seattle Goodwill locations will be closed so our employees can enjoy the holiday with their loved ones. We'll be open on Black Friday—and don't forget to peruse our online stores on Cyber Monday!
