Halloween DIY: Zombie

We know the feeling. It’s a week or even days before Halloween, you have a big party to go to, want to impress but don’t have a costume.

Don’t despair. Go with arguably the most versatile Halloween costume in existence—a zombie.

The great thing about dressing up as a zombie is all you need is the makeup to complete the zombie look. You can use whatever is in your closet or swing by a Seattle Goodwill store and buy some clothes you don’t mind destroying.

For our Zombie-woman look, here is what you’ll need:

  • Makeup or face paint
  • Fake blood
  • Lace shirt with some added tears
  • Skirt
  • Shoes
  • Leggings (add rips)

While wearing the right makeup will transform normal you into brain-eating, blood-thirsty-zombie you, another key to a strong zombie costume is what you do with your clothes. Take a pair of scissors and let out some anger on your shirt and pants, making random cuts all over. Also, try giving your clothes a dirty, worn look by scrubbing shoe polish on your clothing. Then you have a standout costume for Halloween night. See the video above for makeup tips.
