Re-entry Class
Recently released offenders face significant barriers when they return to the community to pick up their lives. This intensive eight-week course helps smooth the way by connecting participants with community resources and opportunities, and building their skill set. Class instruction is combined with field trips, guest presentations, community-resource events, and support and guidance from the Job Training and Education Center’s on-site case manager. Participants work to develop:
- An action plan to address their barriers to successful re-entry into their families, communities and the workforce
- Connections to community resources, services and opportunities
- Information needed to take their next steps into additional training and employment
- Tools and strategies to strengthen adaptability, decision making, and personal and community relationships
